This is a part-time, 1st shift position with hours of coverage between 7 am and 6 pm. Weekend rotation is possible, but there are no Sundays or Holidays. The role involves verifying patient identification, assessing patient reactions to specimen procurement, performing venipuncture and collecting other specimens from patients of all age groups, and ensuring specimen integrity and proper labeling. The phlebotomist will also perform limited testing, answer phones, assist with inventory, support billing functions, process specimens, and respond to urgent requests. Accurate documentation, quality control, and communication of critical results are essential. The position also involves instructing employees and students and requires the ability to provide age-appropriate patient care.
