About The Position

The Clinic Medical Assistant Apprentice is a KVH employee enrolled in a certified Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program. The Apprenticeship program is intended to last one-year with the majority of the work and learning happening on-site, under the guidance of a preceptor. It is an expectation that the Medical Assistant Apprentice will complete the program and take the Department of Health Certified Medical Assistant test and become licensed by the State of Washington.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Current CPR card for Healthcare Providers OR Current MA-R license from the Washington State Department of Health OR Current NAC license from the Washington State Department of Health (required prior to program starting)

Responsibilities

  • Complete a one-year certified Medical Assistant Apprenticeship program.
  • Perform the majority of work and learning on-site under the guidance of a preceptor.
  • Take the Department of Health Certified Medical Assistant test upon program completion.
  • Become licensed by the State of Washington as a Certified Medical Assistant.
