About The Position

This position involves both administrative and clinical duties within the Vascular Surgery department. The role requires performing tasks such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry into medical records. Clinical responsibilities include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting patient demographics and medical information (including medication lists), preparing patients for examinations, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. A key aspect of this role is the administration of medications as ordered by a physician. The position also requires performing specific competencies as directed by the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship (Required effective 9/1/20).
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.
  • Graduate of an state board accredited practical nursing program
  • Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider or as directed by supervisors.
  • Proficient Computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people
  • Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting
  • IV certification in State of Missouri
