This role is within the Vascular Surgery department at Wheeler Heart & Vascular in Springfield, Missouri. The position is a full-time, day shift role with scheduled hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The MA III performs administrative duties such as answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records under direct supervision. Clinical duties include measuring and recording vital signs, collecting demographics and medical information, preparing patients for examination, cleaning rooms and equipment, and stocking supplies. This position involves medication administration. The LPN performs similar administrative duties and clinical duties, including medication administration as ordered by the physician, and specific competencies as directed by the department.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent
  • Graduated from or Completion of a formal MA training program that included pharmacology class, anatomy/physiology, the basics of medication administration, and completion of a clinical externship.
  • None (for MA role experience)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
  • Carry out delegated tasks under supervision of a provider.
  • Proficient Computer skills
  • Certification or Registration from a CoxHealth approved certification program: CMA/AAMA, RMA/AMT, CCMA/NHA, NRCMA/NAHP, NCMA/NCCT, RMA/AAMP.
  • Graduate of an state board accredited practical nursing program
  • Current License Practical Nurse or Graduate Practical Nurse active in the state of Missouri

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people
  • Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting
  • Previous nursing experience, particularly in outpatient or ambulatory clinic setting
  • IV certification in State of Missouri

Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative duties that might include, answering phones, scheduling appointments, and data entry in medical records under the direct supervision of a supervisor or provider.

  • Prepares patients for examination.
  • Cleans rooms and equipment and stocks supplies.
