About The Position

Open Eyes Vision Center is seeking a reliable and compassionate part-time Clinic Lead for its clinic in McKinney, Texas. This role combines patient care with administrative support to support smooth clinic operations and an excellent patient experience. It is described as an opportunity to learn healthcare skills and grow within the practice. Training is provided for clinical pre-testing equipment and medical software. The schedule is 2 to 5 days per week, averaging 20 to 30 hours per week. Saturdays are required. Clinics are open six days per week, generally from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., with typical shifts of 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. or 9:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Lead and management staff have a weekday off on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday, depending on staffing. Mondays, Fridays, and Saturdays are among the standard work week’s busiest days. During spring break, the weeks around the start of school in fall, and the last two weeks of December, regularly scheduled days off remain in place, but additional vacation or PTO cannot be approved.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Availability to work Saturdays.

Nice To Haves

Prior medical or optometry office experience; training is provided.
Fluent Spanish-speaking ability.

Responsibilities

Prepare exam rooms and sanitize equipment.
Escort patients, record medical histories, and perform basic pre-tests, including auto-refraction, tonometry, and visual acuity.
Educate patients on eye health and contact lens care.
Monitor and restock clinical supplies.
Use pre-testing machines such as the autorefractor and capture retinal imaging after training.
Greet and assist patients at check-in.
Schedule appointments and help manage patient flow.
Keep clinic and reception areas clean and welcoming.
Check patients out and collect payments.
Learn the medical software and insurance verification process.
Educate patients about their benefits.
