Family Practice Physician
About The Position
The Clinic Family Practice Physician is responsible for assessment, diagnosis, treatment and/or referral of patients in accordance with appropriate Wisconsin statutes and federal regulations. The Clinic Family Practice Physician will elicit a personal medical history; perform an appropriate physical examination and record pertinent data in the patient's medical record. They will assess, evaluate and manage problems for patients of all ages with acute or chronic illness. The physician will administer or prescribe medications as needed including: injections, immunizations and oral medications. They will provide patient care, assess and treat problems as indicated and seek physician intervention when necessary. The role includes performing or assisting in routine diagnostic studies as needed, promoting positive health behaviors and self-care skills through education and/or counseling, and providing health maintenance care. The physician will assist in the delivery of services to patients by reviewing and monitoring treatment and therapy plans, and perform evaluation and treatment procedures necessary to ensure appropriate response to life-threatening emergency situations. They will facilitate referral of patients to other appropriate community healthcare facilities, agencies and resources, and write prescriptions for medications, according to state regulation and practice protocol. The position requires participation in continuing personal education and conforming to appropriate infection control policies when in contact with patients, blood and body fluids (i.e. practice good Universal Precautions). The physician will be responsible for documenting patient info in the electronic medical record (EPIC) and performing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Current Family Practice license in the state of Wisconsin
- Current DEA license or be eligible to apply
- Experience in a Clinic setting including electronic medical records experience
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
- Exceptional customer service skills
- Ability to work both independently and as a member of a team
- Ability to multi-task and problem solve
- Strong analytical and interpersonal skills required
