About The Position

Roosevelt Children's Center has a long history of providing extraordinary dedication and expertise guiding healthy development for children birth to five years old in a variety of home, community and center based options. Roosevelt Children's Center serves families and children in Wayne, Ontario, Monroe, Cayuga, Seneca and Yates Counties.

Requirements

  • MS or MA in an education related field and/or permanent New York State (NYS) certification as a teacher of special education related field or 5 years preschool experience.
  • 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Knowledge of preschool development and disorders, the evaluation process, and general developmental disorders and delays.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining and administering responsibilities of the multidisciplinary evaluation team.
  • Strong ability to work well with other professionals, support staff, families and community members using a team approach.
  • Professional oral, written, presentation and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Must possess a current, valid New York State driver's license that meets the Agency driver standards.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates related service caseloads and assignments and serves as point person for contracted therapies such as music therapy, vision services, etc.
  • Facilitates the flow of information to all related service providers as necessary and monitors the direction and focus of all related services.
  • Assists assistant program director in managing and monitoring amendments related to changes in services.
  • Supervises and completes annual performance appraisals for all related service providers.
  • Supports all areas of performance management including making recommendations for disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Obtains and manages prescriptions required for related service provision and documentation.
  • Conducts interviews and makes recommendations for hiring all related service providers.
  • Assists program director in acquiring/budgeting materials and inventory including development of grants to acquire funds for related services.
  • Coordinates staff development activities and conducts research regarding current information/data in the field and distributes information.
  • Participates in staff development and in-service training as required to maintain job status.
  • Maintains current NY State license/registration and completes CEU requirements as indicated by NY State and the profession.
  • Coordinates family/community activities relevant to child development.
  • Consults with stakeholders to meet student needs.
  • Maintains confidentiality and respect for all students, their family members, and RCC co-workers.
  • Maintains appropriate professional and personal boundaries including on social media.
