About The Position

In an environment of continuous quality improvement, the Clinic Coordinator supports the daily operations, staffing, and development of an ambulatory clinic team. Serving as a bridge between staff and clinic leadership, this position assists with schedule coordination, onboarding and orientation of new employees, performance management activities, workflow optimization, and operational support. The Clinic Coordinator serves as a resource and mentor for staff while helping to ensure a positive patient experience, efficient clinic operations, and a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. While serving primarily in a clinic coordination role, the Clinic Coordinator maintains competency in any applicable professional licensure, certification, or registration and may, as operational needs require, perform responsibilities within the scope of those credentials to support patient care, patient access, staffing coverage, and efficient clinic operations. This role is designed as a leadership development pathway for experienced clinical and administrative healthcare professionals seeking advancement into formal leadership positions. Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in a business or healthcare related field required.
  • Currently pursuing or willing to obtain a bachelor degree within three years required.
  • Minimum of two years experience in a clinic or hospital setting required.
  • Current certification, registration, or licensure, as applicable, and the ability to maintain required competencies to perform responsibilities consistent with those credentials in support of operational needs.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records, scheduling systems, and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily clinic operations to support efficient workflows, patient access, and quality service delivery.
  • Assist with development, maintenance, and adjustment of department staffing schedules to ensure appropriate coverage and operational needs are met.
  • Serve as a lead resource for clinic staff by providing guidance, support, and problem resolution within established policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate onboarding, orientation, and departmental training activities for new employees.
  • Mentor and support staff development through coaching, feedback, and role modeling of organizational values and professional standards.
  • Monitor staffing, workflow, and operational needs and communicate recommendations to clinic leadership.
  • Facilitate effective communication between providers, staff, patients, and leadership to promote teamwork and operational effectiveness.
  • Assist in implementing and sustaining quality improvement, patient safety, and patient experience initiatives.
  • Support compliance with organizational policies, regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and departmental procedures.
  • Coordinate department resources, supplies, equipment, and other operational needs to support uninterrupted clinic operations.
  • Assist with service recovery and resolution of patient, visitor, and staff concerns in a professional and timely manner.
  • Participate in data collection, auditing, reporting, and monitoring of departmental performance indicators as assigned.
  • Performs clinical, patient access, or administrative support duties, as appropriate to the individual's education, licensure, certification, registration, and demonstrated competencies, to support patient care, patient access, and clinic operations during staffing or operational needs.
  • Assumes all other duties and responsibilities as necessary.
