About The Position

Alliance Spine & Pain is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join their JCAHO-certified ambulatory surgery center team in Augusta. The CMA will act as a liaison between patients and healthcare providers, documenting clinical notes in the EMR and performing various clinic and potentially ASC responsibilities. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent required.
Current Basic Life Support (CPR AED) certification required or obtained within 30 days of hire.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
At least 6 months of experience in a medical office.
Strong organizational skills with great attention to detail.
Working knowledge of medical terminology and correct spelling of medications.
Strong customer service skills.
Ability to maintain good relationships with providers and coworkers.
Ability to effectively give and receive information from patients, providers, and other ASPC employees.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions.
Ability to manage time efficiently.
Ability to become proficient with the eClinicalWorks EMR system.
Prior experience with an EMR required.

Nice To Haves

Pain management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor the schedule for patient arrivals and escort patients to clinic rooms.
Document and maintain patient information in the electronic medical records (EMR).
Merge patient charts, take vitals, verify medications, and triage patients for providers.
Prepare and ship urine specimens to the laboratory according to procedure.
Prepare prescriptions for provider signatures.
Complete patient charts by the end of the workday.
Initiate prior authorizations upon receipt and complete them within 72 hours.
Notify patients of prior authorization status and document the process.
Clean and sanitize clinic rooms at the end of the day.
Restock clinic rooms with necessary supplies.
Perform other duties as assigned by healthcare providers, Charge Nurse, Clinic Lead, or Regional Administrator.
