Position Summary : The Clinic Administrator plans, organizes, directs and evaluates the clinical and business operations of Tri-City Medical Center – affiliated ambulatory clinics, in accordance with Tri-City Health Care District’s (TCHD) policies and procedures, mission and objectives. The Clinic Administrator ensures compliance with patient care quality standards and all applicable state, federal and local regulatory laws, standards and protocols for ambulatory clinics. The Clinic Administrator develops the annual operating budget; oversees the development and implementation of clinic policies and procedures; provides facilities management and oversight of physical structures; and collaborates with leadership regarding human resources need. This position reports to the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and ensures the development, implementation, and evaluation of performance improvement activities across assigned ambulatory clinic operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience in a senior administrative or management position within the healthcare field, preferably in ambulatory or outpatient services.
  • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, and operational management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
  • Computer proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and related applications.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in a related healthcare or business field, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree (MSN, MBA, MHA or related), preferred.
  • A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a safe, clean working environment, including unit based safety and infection control requirements.
  • Responsible for the day-to-day operations of assigned ambulatory clinics.
  • Acts as a liaison between TCHD leadership, clinic medical staff and internal hospital departments supporting ambulatory operations.
  • In coordination with the Chief Operating Officer, participates in the development of strategic plans, budgets, resource allocations, operational plans and clinic policies.
  • Negotiates and oversees external contracts, including those with payers, ancillary service providers, facility maintenance vendors, and purchasing agreements.
  • Establishes pricing for services and procedures based on cost analysis and local market standards.
  • Directs and oversees the management of multiple departments or functional areas within the ambulatory clinics.
  • Develops standards of performance; defines areas of responsibility; assigns accountability; and delegates authority to managerial, supervisory and professional staff.
  • Oversees financial, operational and quality performance of ambulatory clinic operations, including monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting.
  • Provides requested reports and analyses to the TCHD Board of Directors, COO and executive leadership as needed.
  • Ensures clinic staff are knowledgeable of applicable regulatory, accreditation, and compliance standards and that all such standards are consistently met.
