This role oversees all aspects of staff training for assigned team(s), providing technical expertise and enhancing the growth of the laboratory through staff development and training personnel in day-to-day operations. The position ensures adequate staffing schedules, monitors employee performance, mentors staff, and participates in evaluations. The technician also oversees department-specific functions to ensure optimal operations, maintains efficient specimen handling, and coordinates information between shifts. They are responsible for communicating policies and procedures, performing troubleshooting, and defining priorities during extraordinary situations. Additionally, this role assists technologists with clinical trial specimens, develops and maintains procedure manuals, and assesses work processes for improvements. The technician works with leadership to achieve departmental goals and ensures compliance with technical and regulatory standards.
