A Labor and Delivery (L&D) Nurse responsibilities include care of the labor patient before, during and after delivery, care of the newborn immediately after delivery, care of the outpatient that presents to Labor and Delivery, circulating and recovering caesarean sections. The Labor and Delivery Nurse can identify complications including fetal monitoring interpretation and communicates to the Physician. The Labor and Delivery Nurse must maintain a high level in quality, service, critical nursing skills and critical thinking. The Labor and Delivery Nurse must be skilled in managing complex medical cases and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the best outcomes.
