Climb Crew Groundsman
About The Position
The Tree Care Groundsman supports tree care crews by hauling and chipping brush, using chainsaws and other small tools safely, cleaning and organizing work areas, inspecting, assisting other crew members, and learning new tasks. Moon Valley Nursery provides training and career development, and no prior experience is required. The position is full-time, based in Irvine, California, with up to 25% travel and open availability for day shifts. The employee may be scheduled on any day of the week and must be able to pass a drug screen. This is an active outdoor role that may involve extended work in rain, heat, sun, and wind. Duties require standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing throughout the day, as well as frequently lifting or moving items over 60 pounds. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Able to follow specific instructions and safety protocols.
- Able to pass a drug screen.
- Able to work outdoors for extended periods in potentially extreme conditions, including rain, heat, sun, and wind.
- Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, and climb throughout the day.
- Able to frequently lift and/or move items over 60 pounds.

- Experience as a general laborer with power tools, hand tools, and other equipment.
Responsibilities
- Haul and chip branches and brush.
- Use small tools and equipment, including shovels, rakes, and chainsaws.
