About The Position

This role sits between customers and the product, focusing on carbon accounting. The Climate Analyst will work directly with sustainability leaders at enterprise customers to build their programs in Pulsora, leading methodology work for inventory build, target setting, and disclosure. The position owns the emission factor library and calculation methodology, and translates regulatory changes into product requirements. This is a hands-on methodology role involving detailed work with activity data, emission factors, standard text, and calculation logic.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in environmental science, business, or related field.
Proven track record (5 years+) in climate consulting or sustainability analyst roles.
Significant experience in carbon accounting, sustainability consulting, sustainability framework advice, or regulatory counseling.
Deep understanding of the GHG Protocol, ISO 1406X family of standards, sustainability regulations, frameworks, and standards (e.g., CSRD, CDP, SBTi, PCAF, GRI, SASB, TCFD, EU Taxonomy, SFDR, EDCI).
Hands-on experience building or auditing a full Scope 1–3 inventory under the GHG Protocol Corporate Standard and Corporate Value Chain (Scope 3) Standard.
Fluency in emission factor sourcing and application, understanding factor origins, edition differences, impact of source revisions, and GWP set changes.
Familiarity with sustainability assurance and audit practices (e.g., ISAE 3000/3410, AA1000AS) and the data lineage, controls, and documentation required for third-party audits.
Understanding of decarbonization strategy, science-based target setting (SBTi), CDP disclosures, marginal abatement cost curves, scenario analysis, and translating net-zero commitments into operational reduction plans.
Familiarity with AI-assisted “vibe coding” tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot, Replit) for building prototypes and applications.
Comfort operating in ambiguity at the intersection of regulated domains and fast-moving AI.
Self-starter with ownership mentality, ability to work independently, manage multiple projects, and handle ambiguity and last-minute changes.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to translate complex requirements into actionable product plans.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working in an agile development environment and familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence).
Experience working with a global team, including willingness to work outside regular business hours with offshore teams.

Nice To Haves

Advanced masters degree or MBA preferred.
Ideally have industry and market knowledge of ESG and sustainability.
Deep AI/ML engineering background is not required, but comfort shipping real tools with AI assistance is expected.

Responsibilities

Lead customer engagements, owning the relationship with sustainability leads at enterprise customers across GHG inventory build, assurance, decarbonization planning, and voluntary and regulatory reporting.
Perform methodology work behind recommendations, calculations, and ensure platform outputs withstand scrutiny from auditors, CFOs, or regulators.
Shape product capabilities for GHG accounting (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), decarbonization target-setting and tracking (e.g., SBTi, CDP), and audit-ready data lineage.
Own the emission factor library end-to-end, including sourcing, versioning, provenance, and retirement of superseded editions.
Manage GWP sets across IPCC AR4, AR5, and AR6 and the transition logic between them.
Serve as a subject matter expert on carbon accounting and sustainability regulations and standards, guiding clients during onboarding, training, and ongoing platform usage.
Collaborate with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to gather requirements related to carbon accounting, sustainability compliance, and reporting.
Prioritize requirements and work closely with engineering, design, and other cross-functional teams.
Utilize AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, Cursor, Copilot) to build working prototypes, internal tools, and AI applications.
