About The Position

Dentons US LLP is recruiting for a Client Terms Attorney to join the Conflicts and New Matter Intake team. This position will provide support to all levels of personnel throughout the Firm and US Region and will be responsible for review and analysis of client drafted terms or outside counsel guidelines, onboarding questionnaires, and related tasks and projects as necessary. This is a fully remote position.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate will be licensed to practice law with at least 2+ years of client terms review experience in a large law firm setting.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Able to work productively with firm personnel at all levels.
  • Excellent customer/client facing skills.
  • Strong analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Methodical approach to work with a focus on accuracy, attention to details, consistency and quality.
  • Able to effectively negotiate with and influence colleagues and others to achieve a successful outcome.
  • Able to maintain a sophisticated bank of knowledge on the firm’s approach to client term acceptance.
  • Able to work under pressure with tight project deadlines.
  • Adaptable to differing demands, able to prioritize tasks where appropriate and ensure complete 'follow through' on outstanding issues.
  • Able to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues by using judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.

Responsibilities

  • Review and provide thorough and timely analysis of client terms/outside counsel guidelines in order to identify and advise on risk and contractual issues.
  • Liaise with various business and legal teams firmwide regarding negotiation of client terms.
  • Advise on responses to RFPs/pitches.
  • Prepare responses to client audits/assessments with assistance from other firm departments.
  • Assist the Office of the General Counsel with various projects related to client terms and other client engagement activities.
  • Proactively communicate with firm leadership on complex client engagement issues and other related topics.
  • Maintain thorough, accurate, and current records of all terms negotiations in order to ensure integrity of the database and assist in compliance with accepted terms.
  • Other duties as may be assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.
