About The Position

This 1:1 position provides protective care and watchful oversight of a female resident with developmental disabilities in a residential home-life environment at a 24-hour, 7-day facility. Under general supervision, the aide supervises personal care, recreation, and community activities. After completing proper proxy training, the aide assists with client medications. Daily duties also include taking vital signs, preparing meals, cleaning the house, doing laundry, and completing computer-based documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old to apply.
• At least 6 months of social service experience.
• Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record with fewer than 6 points.
• Must be able to lift without restrictions for client care.
• Proficient with computers.
• Ability to observe and monitor program participants’ behavior.
• Ability to train program participants in routine daily living skills.
• Ability to work flexible hours and participate in supportive guidance.
• Only female applicants will be considered due to the nature of the group home.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with home visiting and/or working with the developmentally delayed population.
