About The Position

This is a one-to-one position providing protective care and watchful oversight for a female resident with developmental disabilities in a residential home-life environment. The facility operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The aide supervises personal care, recreation, and community activities; assists with medications after completing proxy training; takes daily vital signs; prepares meals; performs daily house cleaning and laundry; and completes daily computer documentation. The position is scheduled for 29 hours per week, with variable hours that may include night shifts as needed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Must be at least 21 years old to apply.
• At least 6 months of social service experience.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record with fewer than 6 points.
• Able to lift with no restrictions for client care.
• Proficient with computers.
• Ability to observe and monitor program participants’ behavior.
• Ability to work flexible hours and participate in supportive guidance.
• Only female applicants will be considered due to the nature of the group home.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with home visiting and/or working with the developmentally delayed population.
