About The Position

This is a part-time position, 15 hours weekly, focused on a Hoarding and Decluttering program. The core service hours are 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, Monday to Friday. Travel and mileage are paid between clients. This role is ideal for individuals interested in helping clients improve safety and function in their homes. In this position, you will work with adults to assist them in reducing risks associated with cluttered living environments, uncleanliness, and squalor. Using a harm reduction approach, the Client Service Worker is responsible for implementing client care plans and assisting them to sort, organize, and discard possessions. Assistance with cleaning and removal of small items may be required. Services are delivered both in-home and virtually.

Requirements

Social Service Worker or Community Service Worker Diploma
Experience working with clients living with mental health conditions
Knowledge and/or interest in hoarding disorder
Knowledge of York Region community resources
Experience in a community setting
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to handle conflict effectively
Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbal/written)
Ability to work independently, as well as cooperatively within a team
Vehicle and valid Ontario driver’s license required
First Aid certification required
Current Vulnerable Sector Check
Travel required throughout York Region
