Requirements

A minimum of a high school diploma/GED or equivalent and up to 12 months related experience in general office work required.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Flexibility, initiative, and ability to work in a team required.
Must be able to deal sensitively with clients of diverse cultural and economic backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

Some college coursework a plus.
Bilingual skills are preferred.

Responsibilities

Responsible for providing general assistance to the Energy Programs Director in outreach, intake, verification and processing of all Energy Program applications and all client communication resources.
Provide outreach and education to potential and eligible clients and Fuel Assistance Intake Sites by telephone, mailings and meetings in regard to all Energy Programs.
Respond to client inquiries and initiate follow-up calls when necessary.
Perform client intake through face-to-face interviews while completing the Fuel Assistance application and collecting appropriate documentation for processing.
Assist in follow-up of Energy program applications that need additional information for completion.
Maintain applicant files in an accurate and efficient manner.
Ensure that client, outreach, education and intake occur among all energy related programs.
Ensure all winter heating emergency calls are properly recorded, referred and resolved.
Assist in providing services to clients seeking utility payment management programs.
Provide utility queries of utility usage.
Assist in contacting clients participating in utility payment programs.
Perform other related duties as assigned from time to time.
