About The Position

Responsible for a portfolio of clients and managing the day to day activities of those captive insurance companies. Prepare financial statements in an accurate and timely manner, including supplemental financial information required by the client. Ability to manage complex clients in full cycle life accounting. Familiar with international clients' unique rules and regulations. Reconciles cash and investment accounts. Prepares bank deposits and cash disbursements. Assists clients in the full day to day activities and requests independently and pro-actively. Plans and completes the annual audit for clients, which can include preparation of regulatory filings and GAAP financial statements. Knowledgeable or highly knowledgeable in GAAP and can speak to and guide clients in evaluating and implementing new principles. Ensures legal and regulatory compliance processes and procedures are followed for local accounting and financial reporting. Proactively has conversations with clients on any trending regulatory issues or changes. Maintains client files in accordance with regulations and best practices. Has clear communication and relationship building skills and can troubleshoot most client relationship scenarios. Monitors and documents team and client activities to prevent and detect problems. Corresponds with other service providers. Including reviewing, analyzing and discuss any reports provided by the service providers (eg. actuaries, auditors, claims handlers, etc) Coach, mentor and assist junior or new colleagues in their roles. Reviews junior colleague work before being sent to clients or other stakeholders. Participates in ongoing global projects such as developing best practices or new policy. Organizes, plans and leads board and committee meeting materials and be active participant in the annual board of directors' meeting and other client meetings. Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Complies with Marsh internal controls and any client specific internal controls. Helps establish and implement standardized financial activities and procedures to improve efficiency. Solid understanding of insurance, insurance policies and insurance accounting. Requirements

  • Solid understanding of insurance, insurance policies, and insurance accounting.
  • Knowledgeable or highly knowledgeable in GAAP.
  • Ability to speak to and guide clients in evaluating and implementing new GAAP principles.
  • Clear communication and relationship building skills.

  • Correspond with other service providers, reviewing and analyzing their reports.
  • Coach, mentor, and assist junior or new colleagues.
  • Review work of junior colleagues.
  • Participate in global projects, such as developing best practices or new policies.
  • Organize, plan, and lead board and committee meeting materials.
  • Actively participate in annual board of directors' meetings and other client meetings.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
