About The Position

C3 is seeking a Client Manager (Small Group) to join their Small Group Employee Benefits team. This role is key in providing clients with an exceptional experience. The Client Manager will act as the primary point of contact for small group clients, building strong relationships and ensuring satisfaction with C3's services. They will collaborate with producers and Client Service Executives to understand client needs, prepare marketing strategies, and identify opportunities for additional coverage. The role involves supporting producers in securing new business, training and mentoring team members, conducting marketing efforts, negotiating rates, and preparing proposals. The Client Manager will also ensure carriers/vendors are notified of client decisions, oversee program placement, review policies for accuracy, and keep clients updated on compliance and legislation. Additionally, they will prepare benefit administration solutions and employee benefit kits, assist clients with administrative issues, and maintain client files in the Agency Management System. Auditing invoices for accuracy is also a responsibility.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3+ years of expertise and experience in ensuring the seamless execution of new and renewal marketing, placement, and policy delivery to both producers and clients.
  • Proactive in anticipating potential obstacles and taking steps to prevent them before they occur.
  • Exceptional at managing expectations and ensuring that deadlines are met with internal team members, carrier/vendor partners, and clients.
  • Outstanding ability to service accounts with a focus on quality and attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Math proficiency.
  • Excellent and strong communication skills, essential for presenting renewals to clients and delivering open enrollment presentations to employees, with the ability to provide non-technical explanations of technical matters and summarize and present information in a clear, concise, and accurate written and verbal format.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for small group clients in your book, building strong relationships with them and ensuring their satisfaction with our services.
  • Collaborate with Producer and Client Service Executives (CE) to understand client needs, prepare marketing strategies, and identify opportunities for additional coverage.
  • Support producers in securing new business opportunities with existing clients by reviewing current coverage lines and evaluating whether adjustments are needed based on benchmarking or salary.
  • Train and mentor team members to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Conduct or oversee marketing efforts, negotiating rates, reviewing quotes and coverages for competitiveness and accuracy with our General Agency partners.
  • Summarize marketing results and prepare proposals for clients in partnership with Producer/CE.
  • Ensure carriers/vendors are notified of client decisions (even when they don’t win the coverage) and oversee the correct program placement.
  • Review policies, contracts, EOCs, and summaries for accuracy and ensure clients receive them.
  • Work with Producer to keep clients up-to-date on important compliance and legislation.
  • Prepare and renew the Benefit Administration Solution and Employee Benefit Kits for year-round offerings, working with the General Agency Partner as necessary.
  • Assist clients with administrative or employee issues when needed.
  • Maintain client files in Agency Management System, Applied Epic.
  • Audit invoices at the beginning of the year to ensure accuracy.
