About The Position

As a member of the Commercial Real Estate team, you'll work with our clients to finance their growth, business objectives, and mitigate risk. As a Client Manager you will grow and manage a portfolio of clients by proactively developing new business opportunities in the NonBank Lender community and ensuring clients banking needs are being met at the highest level. As a strategic partner to your NonBank Lender clients, you'll be delivering solutions, loan products and cross-sell products to help clients realize their goals. Requirements

  • Demonstrate deep experience in commercial real estate by having a solid understanding of financial statements, cash flow analysis, market and asset valuations.
  • Experience managing the credit quality of a portfolio of commercial real estate loans that have complex structures and business plans.
  • A degree in Business, Finance, Accounting or a related field.
  • Legally eligible to work at the location(s) specified and, where applicable, must have a valid work or study permit.

Responsibilities

  • Grow and manage a portfolio of clients by proactively developing new business opportunities in the NonBank Lender community.
  • Ensure clients banking needs are being met at the highest level.
  • Deliver solutions, loan products and cross-sell products to help clients realize their goals.
  • Originate, develop, and deepen relationships with commercial real estate NonBank Lenders (credit funds, REITs).
  • Leverage referral sources, networking and strategic account planning.
  • Build a profile in the NonBank Lender community to leverage that profile into effective working relationships with new and existing clients as well as with internal partners.
  • Actively monitor and manage these relationships by fully understanding our clients' goals and purpose.
  • Work with internal partners to connect clients with cross-sell opportunities such as capital market derivatives and private wealth introductions.
  • Partner with our credit team and asset managers to ensure all credit and monitoring of the loan portfolio meet CIBC standards.
  • Maintain consistent communication with your clients to assess their needs, proactively addressing any issues, and propose solutions as needed.
  • Utilize industry, company knowledge, analytical skills and negotiating skills to provide proposals for new business as well as existing business.
