Client Executive

Neighborly Software
Hybrid

About The Position

Neighborly Software is seeking a Client Executive to serve as the senior leader responsible for the relationship, commercial outcome, and strategic direction of their most important enterprise client accounts. This role involves acting as the executive face of Neighborly Software to senior client stakeholders, serving as a continuous partner throughout the multi-year client lifecycle. It is not a traditional account management role, but rather one that requires deep domain expertise in government technology, federally funded programs, and complex grants management. The Client Executive will navigate complexity, manage layered stakeholder environments, and act as a trusted advisor, owning the full scope of the client relationship including priorities, program outcomes, delivery experience, pricing, profitability, and expansion strategy.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in government technology, grants management, federally funded programs, affordable housing, or related complex regulated industries.
  • Deep domain expertise in one or more of: US Treasury programs, CDBG-DR, HUD housing and community development programs, DOE rebate programs, HCV, affordable housing, FEMA recovery, state energy programs, or similar.
  • Significant experience working with state and local government clients in a senior client-facing capacity - either as a vendor/consultant/services partner, or in government service at a senior level.
  • Strong commercial acumen, including experience owning account-level revenue accountability, navigating pricing conversations, and managing complex contract negotiations.
  • Demonstrated ability to navigate multi-stakeholder, politically complex client environments.
  • Executive presence and credibility.
  • Strong collaborator, able to partner well with internal teams.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and change.
  • Genuine service orientation.
  • Fluent in both technology and the business processes of government programs.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the senior Neighborly Software relationship owner for an assigned book of 8–10 enterprise clients.
  • Build and maintain executive-level relationships with agency directors, commissioners, executive directors, mayors, county executives, and other senior client stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic guidance to clients on program design, regulatory navigation, and operational best practices.
  • Serve as the executive escalation point for client concerns and strategic decisions.
  • Own account-level profitability, monitoring delivery cost relative to contract value and addressing structural issues.
  • Lead all post-sale pricing conversations, including annual rate increases, scope-driven adjustments, and expansion pricing.
  • Own contract renewals and expansion opportunities, partnering with the Enterprise Sales Pod organization.
  • Drive measurable revenue outcomes including retention, expansion, and account profitability.
  • Partner with the assigned Client Operations Team on day-to-day program management and engagement delivery.
  • Coordinate the deployment of implementation pod resources.
  • Maintain alignment between client expectations, Neighborly Software delivery capability, and commercial commitments.
  • Serve as the lead for major program milestones, executive business reviews, and steering committee engagement.

  • Provide domain expertise and competitive positioning input on strategic RFPs and competitive deals.
  • Support pre-sale pricing for strategic RFPs and competitive deals.
  • Transition pursuit-stage relationships into long-term account ownership at contract signing.
  • Champion strategic client priorities back into Product and Engineering roadmap conversations.
  • Partner with leadership on cross-client insights, market dynamics, and emerging program trends.
  • Build and maintain client reference relationships that support new business pursuits.
