About The Position
At CFO Associates, we help businesses make confident financial decisions by providing outsourced accounting, controller, and CFO services. We're a rapidly growing CPA firm known for our forward-thinking approach, collaborative team, and client-first culture. We are expanding our e-commerce practice and looking for an experienced Client Controller to join our team. This role is ideal for someone who understands the fast-moving world of e-commerce and wants to work directly with clients such as: Direct-to-Consumer (DTC) Brand Owners, Amazon FBA & Multi-Channel Sellers, Shopify & WooCommerce Store Operators, Subscription Box & Recurring Revenue Businesses, E-Commerce Aggregators & Holdcos. Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in public accounting or similar role
- Knowledge of GAAP
- Advanced Excel and Microsoft Office skills
- Strong communication skills and client-facing confidence
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented
- Familiarity with QuickBooks Online & Bill.com required
Nice To Haves
- E-Commerce accounting experience preferred (DTC, marketplace, or subscription models)
- CPA license a plus
- Experience with inventory accounting, COGS management, sales tax nexus (Avalara/TaxJar), or payment platform reconciliation (Stripe, PayPal, Shopify Payments) is a plus
Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day accounting operations for assigned clients
- Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, and cash flow
- Prepare and review weekly, bi-weekly, and/or Month-End Financial Statements and Forecasts
- Reconcile General Ledger activity and ensure data accuracy
- Build and maintain client relationships through proactive communication
- Analyze financial trends and identify opportunities for growth and efficiency
- Provide insight on COGS, contribution margin, inventory valuation, and unit economics
- Assist in implementing automation tools and process improvements
- Work with software like QuickBooks Online, A2X, Shopify, Amazon Seller Central integrations, and Fathom
