About The Position

As a member of CIBC Wood Gundy, you will be responsible for building and growing Wood Gundy client portfolios through dedicated relationship management, trusted investment advice and exceptional client service. As a Client Associate, you will work closely with Investment Advisors at CIBC Wood Gundy to help manage their portfolios and develop new business. You will directly engage with high-net-worth clients to offer support, uncover business opportunities, and proactively improve the client experience. At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. To successfully perform the work, you’ll be on-site full-time Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Current accreditation and in good standing as an Investment Representative (IR) with Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization - Investment Dealer (CIRO-ID).
  • 3+ years of brokerage industry experience
  • Working knowledge of various quotation equipment
  • Experience placing trades
  • Engage with the purpose of finding the right solutions and go the extra mile for clients.
  • Motivated by accomplishing goals and delivering best to make an impact.
  • Care about people, understand different perspectives, listen and learn from others' experiences.
  • Notice details, and use critical thinking skills to inform decision making.
  • Bring your real self to work and live CIBC values: trust, teamwork, and accountability.

Responsibilities

  • Focus on each client's experience and connect on a personal level to make every interaction meaningful.
  • Anticipate client needs and communicate promptly with your team to build trust and deepen client relationships.
  • Identify activities, processes, and opportunities to improve the client experience.
  • Proactively identify business opportunities for your team.
  • Work closely with Investment Advisors to support business development activities and assist in the building of investment plans based on the client’s profile, goals, and risk/reward tolerance.
  • Heighten CIBC brand awareness in your community by attending local events and participating in marketing and outreach activities.
  • Grow your network to create lasting connections that will generate future opportunities.
