About The Position

This role is for a Client Advisory Manager at a fast-growing, entrepreneurial accounting and advisory firm that services SMEs across Australia through a modern, cloud-based model. The firm focuses on clarity, strategy, and measurable business outcomes, not just compliance. The position is a leadership role combining strategic client impact, business development, coaching, and career growth. The role is end-to-end, focusing on strategic conversations, financial diagnostics, cash flow, budgeting, business growth, and premium advisory services. The Client Advisory Manager will work directly with business owners to help them understand their numbers, improve profitability, and make smarter decisions. They will also play a major role in expanding the advisory division through social presence, client conversion, and strategic growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting / Commerce or equivalent
  • CA or CPA qualified
  • 4+ years proven experience in Australian advisory, business coaching, Virtual CFO or strategic SME consulting
  • Strong capability in P&L analysis, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial modelling
  • Confident presenter with the ability to lead strategic conversations with business owners
  • Commercially minded with genuine business development capability
  • Strong LinkedIn presence and confidence building professional engagement
  • Self-directed, proactive and highly autonomous
  • Ability to simplify complex financial concepts into actionable business strategies
  • Permanent residents or citizens of Australia or NZ

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Xero, Karbon, Ignition, or HubSpot advantageous

Responsibilities

  • Deliver end-to-end advisory services across SME clients including diagnostics, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, and strategic planning
  • Run monthly P&L reviews, cash flow meetings, budget vs actual sessions, and quarterly strategy reviews
  • Lead annual planning sessions and growth conversations with business owners
  • Translate financial data into practical, plain-English business advice
  • Identify and convert existing compliance clients into advisory engagements
  • Support rollout and growth of premium coaching and business improvement programs
  • Manage inbound advisory leads and support strategic business development initiatives
  • Build Propeller’s advisory brand through LinkedIn, Instagram, and relationship-led outreach
  • Review bookkeeping and reporting outputs to ensure advisory readiness
  • Maintain accurate client systems across Xero, Karbon, and HubSpot
  • Collaborate closely with leadership on strategic growth priorities
