We're excited to welcome our first-ever Client Accounting Services (CAS) Intern to the team! This newly created position is a hands-on opportunity to build a strong foundation in bookkeeping and client accounting while working directly alongside our CAS team throughout the year. As a CAS Intern, you'll support the team with recurring bookkeeping tasks, data organization, and basic reporting for assigned clients, all under direct supervision. This role is designed as a structured entry point into the Firm's CAS career pathway, giving you exposure to our core CAS technology stack alongside foundational bookkeeping skills. Your work will help keep the monthly close process on schedule for our clients, all while building the technical foundation and firm knowledge needed for a future career in client accounting services.

Requirements

  • Minimum 90 credit hours completed; pursuing an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (equivalent bookkeeping experience considered)
  • Ability to commit to at least 24 hours per week on-site
  • Minimum 3.2 GPA preferred
  • Coursework in financial accounting/bookkeeping, or demonstrated interest via prior part-time bookkeeping work or coursework projects
  • Comfortable learning new software quickly; prior exposure to QBO or similar cloud accounting platforms is a plus but not required
  • Strong attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions rather than guess
  • Basic proficiency in Excel; comfort working across multiple cloud-based systems
  • Must be a self-starter and possess a proactive personality

Responsibilities

  • Assist with routine transaction categorization, data entry, and basic bank/credit card reconciliations for assigned clients under full review
  • Support monthly close tasks for simple, single-entity clients as directed by a Senior CAS Associate or Manager
  • Use document capture and workflow tools to organize and label client source documents
  • Assist with accounts payable data entry and basic invoice processing under supervision
  • Learn and apply the Firm's core CAS technology stack as directed
  • Flag unusual transactions, missing documentation, or discrepancies rather than making assumptions
  • Maintain client confidentiality and data security standards consistent with firm policy across all systems and client data
  • Participate in scheduled training and technical check-ins, including training on new tools as the Firm's CAS technology stack evolves
  • Attend and participate in firm-wide and department meetings
