About The Position

Fort Bend County is seeking a Part-Time Clerk to provide general clerical and administrative support to attorneys, legal staff, and department personnel within the District Attorney's Office. This role involves assisting with maintaining physical and electronic legal files, case files, records, and tracking systems. The Clerk will also handle telephone inquiries, serve as front desk backup, receive and distribute correspondence, and perform data entry for various departmental systems. Additionally, the position requires participation in emergency management activities during a local state of disaster as directed. Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • One (1) year job related experience.
  • Good computer and typing skills (minimum 35 wpm).
  • Good verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to deal effectively with the public, other employees and elected officials.

Responsibilities

  • Provide general clerical and administrative support to attorneys, legal staff and department personnel.
  • Assist with maintaining physical and electronic legal files, case files, records and tracking systems.
  • Answers telephone inquiries and/or directs to proper person or accurately records telephone messages.
  • Serves as front desk backup and provide courteous and professional assistance to the the public, county employees, elected official, attorneys and other agencies
  • Receives and distributes correspondence for the department.
  • Preforms data entry and updates case management, records management, and other departmental systems with accurate and timely information.
  • Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.
