The Morris/Sussex Vicinage Operations Division is seeking a customer service orientated individual with excellent leadership, reasoning and self-management skills. Under the general direction of the Court Executive 2B (Operations Division Manager) and the direct supervision of the Court Executive 1B (Jury Manager), the Clerk to the Grand Jury will perform a variety of courtroom duties related to Grand Jury and Petit Jury.

Requirements

  • Three years of experience performing a variety of clerical and support services to include keyboarding and one or more of the following: document or information processing, handling payments for fees, recording monies received, reconciling balances or accounts and/or scheduling meetings or appointments.
  • Ability to use a keyboard, no minimum speed.

Responsibilities

  • Operate courtroom equipment, provide instructions to Grand Jurors.
  • Maintain the court record and correctly process the results of the Grand Jury proceedings.
  • Provide information to judges, attorneys or community organizations; applying statutes, court rules, case law, or policies to clients or customers; conferring with judges or hearing officers on policies or procedures.
  • Screen confidential material for release to public or other authorized persons/agencies; analyzing data; and providing training or cross training to co-workers.
  • Perform Petit Jury related duties such as processing questionnaires, answering phone inquiries, escorting jurors to courtrooms, preparing jury payroll, presenting jury orientation, interacting with jurors, providing excellent customer service.
  • Assist the Jury Manager as needed and performing other related duties as required.
