The Health Information Management Scanning Clerk is responsible for scanning and closing various medical documents, including consultation reports, lab reports from non-interfaced labs, and imaging studies from outside facilities. This role also involves data entry for non-interfaced lab data and other necessary information. A key responsibility is reconciling results, consultations, and studies with previously created orders and following clinic procedures for unfulfilled items. The position requires good keyboard speed, the ability to quickly understand information, and careful attention to detail when entering medical information. As part of a teaching facility, the clerk will also communicate with administrative staff, residents, and attending physicians, and complete internal communications as per clinic policy.
