About The Position

The Clerical Support Specialist provides essential administrative and clerical support for healthcare documentation and billing operations. This role is responsible for processing, organizing, and distributing medical records, Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), UB-92 forms, and itemized statements for both internal teams and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, customer-focused, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Requirements

  • Patient service and customer service experience
  • Ability to work in an operational, production-driven environment
  • Comfort working in call center or customer support settings
  • Proficiency with Windows-based systems
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • Excellent listening skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
  • Comfortable learning new systems and processes quickly
  • Strong organizational and independent problem-solving skills
  • Accurate data entry skills, including 10-key by touch

Nice To Haves

  • Basic technical support or help desk experience preferred
  • Familiarity with healthcare terminology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Sort and process incoming mail and rotate through mail handling responsibilities
  • Receive and manage claims from multiple sources
  • Work online files within a lockbox system
  • Manage work queues and respond to documentation and information requests
  • Support hospital billing and professional fee processing
  • Maintain accurate documentation while meeting productivity standards
  • Fulfill requests for medical records, EOBs, UB-92 forms, and itemized billing statements
  • Deliver documentation to appropriate internal departments and external business contacts
  • Perform general office duties including sorting mail, filing, scanning, copying, and indexing documents
  • Print, track, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure timely completion of assigned work queues
  • Provide excellent customer and patient service while supporting operational workflows
