Job Description: JOB SUMMARY File court documents and files accurately, review and verify information for accuracy. Accurately perform data entry and perform general office duties. This job will require you to attend court proceedings and take official notice of court proceedings or outcomes. REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS This position reports directly to Deputy Clerk of Courts. There are no direct reports to this position. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS Processing, recording and entering information related to criminal files and court proceedings into CPCMS - 50% Assisting the public & various county staff with department-related and record keeping inquiries - 10% Attend courtroom proceedings and record dispositions - 25% Perform any clerical duties applicable to the office - 15% OTHER SPECIFIC TASKS OR DUTIES Will assist in other areas as needed . MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS High School Diploma or equivalent 2 years clerical experience Must be computer literate Must be able to attend most court proceedings and take official notice of court proceedings and outcomes with proficiency and do so on a regular basis Must be cross trained or have applicable experience in at least three different areas related to the office's core objectives and assist in those areas on a regular basis KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES Competency in the operation of basic office equipment: computer, fax, copier, etc. Ability to type 40 words per minute Excellent organizational skills Good communication skills REQUIRED LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS/CLEARANCES Must be able to pass pre-employment criminal background check PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT Be able to sit and stand for extended periods of time Ability to retrieve and accurately re-file documents in file folders on shelves and be able to pull file folders from shelves and return file folders to shelves that are ranging from 1 foot to 6 feet in height Must be able to lift 20 lbs Ability to pull or push carts containing multiple files Ability to stand on step stool when necessary to file The County of Lancaster offers comprehensive benefits to our employees. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 2 years clerical experience
  • Must be computer literate
