About The Position

Brooklyn/Queens Control Center is looking for a qualified candidate to join their team as a Clerical Assistant. We are seeking a highly organized and detailed-oriented clerical professional with strong proficiency in Microsoft Office and the ability to manage data, reports and documentation with precision. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, KPI-driven environment, demonstrates strong communication skills, and can effectively support both internal teams and external customers. The role requires accuracy, adaptability, and the ability to manage multiple systems and priorities simultaneously.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Computer skills
  • Competency in Microsoft Suite (Outlook, Word)
  • Excellent interpersonal skills are required for frequent interaction with Manager, Planners, Supervisors, and Field Crews
  • Able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities
  • Proficient in English written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to simultaneously handle multiple priorities
  • Well organized, detail oriented and flexible to handle multiple assignments
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.
  • Driver's License
  • Ability to push, pull, and lift up to 25 pounds
  • Sit or stand to answer a phone for the duration of the workday
  • Sit or stand to use a keyboard, mouse, and computer for the duration of the workday
  • Possess manual dexterity and the ability to use hands for the duration of the workday
  • Ability to stoop, bend, reach, and kneel throughout the workday

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in the utility industry is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Reviewing and filing documents
  • Compiling various system reports
  • Maintain and manage spreadsheets, reports and tracking systems with high accuracy
  • Learn and navigate internal and external systems (e.g Oracle, ArcFM, eGIS, WMS, CRMS, NMS, CIAS etc)
  • Ensure compliance with departmental standards and performance metrics (productivity, accuracy, turnaround time)
  • Participate in any cross-training assignments within the department
  • Available to report in-person during ICS (Incident Command System) events and travel to company locations as necessary to support restoration efforts on morning/night shift
  • Engage with customers regularly, both internal and external
