About The Position

Under the supervision of the RN and/or Mammography Technologist, this part-time position serves as an integral member of the health care team. The role involves performing clerical and patient care assignments as delegated and permitted by law and regulatory bodies and institutional policies and procedures. This position must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and service appropriate to the age of the patients served in his/her assigned area. The role will be responsible for performing L-Dex testing under the supervision of the Nurse Navigator. This role involves more clerical and administrative responsibilities rather than direct patient interaction, with tasks including data entry, organizing files, managing appointments, and supporting the team with various office duties.

Requirements

High school diploma/GED
BLS/CPR through the American Heart Association

Responsibilities

Assists in the delivery of direct patient care under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Radiology Technologist and receives written and/or verbal assignments and direction.
Documents patient care activities and patient data accurately using appropriate documentation forms and/or information systems.
Performs clinical skills and/or diagnostic testing including but not limited to Lymphedema index (L-Dex), prepping patient for imaging exam, and assisting technologist with imaging procedures.
Completes assigned patient duties within the time-frame established by the Registered Nurse or Radiology Technologist.
Communicates with broader care team to coordinate appropriate follow up care for patient.
Utilizes information while upholding the policies and procedures of Holland Hospital to continuously improve patient care, safety, and practice to enhance outcomes.
Reports patient safety issues utilizing the MOOR occurrence reporting system.
Able to describe the unit based quality improvement activities and implications for practice.
Assists with data collection for quality improvement activities.
Assists with the identification of actual and potential risks to patient safety.
Achieves unit specific initial and ongoing competencies.
Provides close care/1:1 direct observation of patients to maintain patient safety as assigned.
Interacts with and contributes to the professional development and training of peers, colleagues, and students.
Supports the operation of the unit by completing assigned tasks.
Performs ongoing supplies inventory.
Stocks and cleans patient care areas.
Assists with regulatory checks as delegated.
Maintains a neat, uncluttered environment in patient room and/or treatment area.
Supports patient care and unit operations by completing assigned tasks under supervision of the Registered Nurse or Radiology Technologist.
Functions as unit medical records clerk by promptly, politely, and professionally answering the phone and professionally interacting with other medical facilities.
Performs file, chart, and forms maintenance; including but not limited to handling release of records, obtaining outside images, facilitating courier delivery/pick-up, and knowledge of PACS functions related to imaging records.
Assists with requests and facilitates communication between members of the health care team.
Assists with other clerical/reception duties as assigned.
Demonstrates knowledge of computer downtime procedures.
