About The Position

This position provides front desk coverage and customer service at various recreation facilities. General duties range from checking guests in, to selling memberships, programs, services, and tickets, as well as general customer service. Knowledge of all passes, programs, and services is essential to the function of this role.

Requirements

  • Minimum age is 18.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • One-year related experience preferred.
  • Must successfully pass all required employment screens.
  • Ability to read instructions and communicate with City supervisor and the general public.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from supervisor, groups of clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to work with diverse guests, occasionally under stressful circumstances.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with participants, other departments, and management.
  • Ability in communicating rules, regulations and enforcing policies.
  • Must be organized when completing daily records, logs, and incident reports.
  • Ability to explain/demonstrate concepts and techniques to guests as they participate in recreation activities.
  • Ability to remain composed in emergency situations and make sound judgments.
  • Ability to recognize safety hazards and notify supervisors.
  • Ability to operate all assigned equipment safely.
  • Ability to perform first aid as needed.
  • Ability to provide customer service in a fast paced, chaotic environment.
  • Ability to solve and implement practical solutions to problems.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Foresee and initiate proactive measures to ensure program quality, customer service and facility integrity.
  • CPR and First Aid Certifications required or ability to obtain certifications within 60 days of hire

  • Bilingual capabilities in Spanish and English desirable but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service to all guests in a fast-paced environment.
  • Greets guest, accepts and processes facility passes and registrations for specific activities.
  • Enforces rules and policies with staff and guests.
  • Handles and processes payments and responsible for assigned funds and receipts.
  • Prepares the revenue and paid-out record forms daily.
  • Maintains work area, facilities, supplies and equipment.
  • Operates a variety of office equipment and electronic software.
  • Completes a variety of paperwork including daily records, logs, and incident reports.
  • Assist with any first aid, CPR, and other medical attention as needed.
  • Maintains communications with other staff within recreation and reports issues or concerns (i.e. RecTrac or activity issues) to supervisory staff as needed.
  • Attends and participates in staff meetings and trainings.
  • Keeps informed of all seasonal and on-going programs.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
