This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Test Operations, Safety, Quality, and Mission Assurance. This includes Manufacturing and Supply Chain support across all Blue Origin facilities. This position will directly impact the history of space exploration and will require your commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable space flight. As part of this diverse and hardworking team of technicians, you will mainly perform precision cleaning of Aerospace components. This will involve inspection, disassembly, cleaning, verification of cleanliness, reassembly, operational testing, leak check and final packaging. You will share in the team’s impact on all aspects of propulsion module, engine, and sub assembly manufacturing. The Cleaning, Passivation, and Verification Lab is a critical part of the company’s Integrated Supply Chain. A technician in this role will perform daily tasks including: Clean and passivate hardware using means such as solvent/chemical, mechanical, ultrasonic, and precision cleaning methods. Perform hydrostatic and pneumatic testing of tubing/piping/components for acceptance. Disassemble/Inspect/rebuild/test components. Safely handle hardware utilizing overhead cranes, hoists, and associated lifting equipment. Use titration and other direct measurement methods to analyze and correct lab solvent/chemical systems. Use various methods to provide identifying features to hardware per technical documentation. Inspect hardware using visual, ultraviolet light, borescope, microscopic particle count, and high-precision weighing methods. Perform shop level maintenance and calibration of equipment such as pumps, tanks, filtration systems, scales, etc. Conduct general housekeeping of lab and certified clean room area. Follow safety regulations and wear protective eyewear, steel toe boots, and other applicable personal protective equipment. Our team is a direct supplier to all of Blue’s Business Units, and executes for New Shepard, New Glenn, Blue Moon, and the Blue Engines programs. The Launch Site One Cleaning, Passivation, and Verification team provides a crucial, integrated service that supplies all four of the Blue Origin operational sites.
