About The Position

Amentum is seeking a Cleaning Mech Tech III to join their Operations & Test Division. This role involves disassembling, cleaning, and reassembling components and assemblies to meet specified cleaning standards. The technician will work in a clean room environment, provide technical guidance, log data, and train less experienced technicians. Responsibilities also include lab inventory, receiving and shipping items, and interfacing with quality inspectors. This is a JETS II CBA position.

Requirements

  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Proficient knowledge of cleaning processes and standards.
  • 12 years of prior clean room experience or in a related area.
  • Proficient with the following cleaning methods: abrasive, chemical (solvent based), ultrasonic.
  • Clean room protocols and proficient with maintenance procedures (sticky pads, filter change out, etc.).
  • Must be able to complete a U.S. government background investigation.
  • Must be able to see color differentiation when using ultraviolet light.
  • Requires occasional: Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above or below ground level.
  • Hearing with or without correction.
  • Bending, kneeling crouching, squatting and/or crawling from one to 30 minutes at a time.
  • Reaching for, handling and manipulating objects and materials in all directions.
  • Requires Frequent: Lifting up to 20 pounds from ground level and waist level.
  • Requires Constant: Coordinating eyes, hands and fingers to operate tools and equipment.
  • Carrying up to 20 pounds for 20 yards.
  • Standing.
  • Seeing with or without correction.
  • Ability to follow set procedures and standards.
  • Planning work and selecting proper tools.
  • Follow written and oral directions, plans and blueprints.
  • Picture and evaluate solid objects from drawings or diagrams using standards that can be measured or checked.
  • Recognize and report safety hazards.
  • PPE and clothing for clean room environment must be worn.
  • Respirator may be used when filling/using chemical.
  • Must be able to work in a team atmosphere.
  • Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation.
  • Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.

Responsibilities

  • Disassemble, clean, and reassemble components and assemblies for the purpose of cleaning contamination to a specified cleaning standard, requirement, or per instruction.
  • Maintain and operate under clean room standards.
  • Provide technical guidance to customers.
  • Log data for work performed and provide reports or data to customers.
  • Bag and tag items to maintain cleanliness and tracking of flight and non-flight purposes.
  • Train less experienced technicians and verify work as required.
  • Prioritize tasks with supervisor and/or assign work to other technicians.
  • Assist with lab inventory.
  • Receive and ship customer items; interface with quality inspectors as required.
  • Provides technical leadership to less experienced technicians.
  • Familiarization of all cleaning equipment at resident location, including maintenance practices, consumable loading and re-ordering.
  • Perform related duties as required.
