About The Position

The Cleaning Associate is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized store environment, with a focus on floor care. The role includes operating floor-care equipment and cleaning floors, glass, and windows. The associate also maintains cleanliness, organization, and recovery standards throughout the store; follows health, safety, operational, merchandising, and loss-prevention policies; and is cross-trained to support other areas of the store as business needs require. The position is part-time and is located at Marshalls Store 0711 in Geneva, Illinois.

Requirements

• Physical stamina to perform cleaning tasks and operate a floor buffer and scrubber.
• Capable of multitasking.

• Capable of lifting heavy objects, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Works effectively with peers and supervisors.
• Retail customer experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain floor-care cleanliness standards, including operating and maintaining the scrubber and buffer.
• Dust mop, damp mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, and spot-clean glass and windows.
• Maintain organization, cleanliness, and recovery standards throughout the store, including the sales floor, single queue, associate lounge, backroom, and restrooms.
• Follow company health and safety policies, including refilling essential items in the lounge, restrooms, and front end.
• Cross-train and work in other store areas, including the backroom, front end, and sales floor.
• Support and respond to front-end coverage needs.
• Follow the company's merchandising philosophy and signage standards.
• Initiate and participate in store recovery throughout the day as needed.
• Follow operational and loss-prevention controls and company policies, including shrink-reduction measures.
• Communicate accurately and effectively with management and associates.
• Follow labor laws and company policies and procedures, including meal and break-period policies.
• Participate in safety awareness and help maintain a safe environment.
• Model established customer-experience practices with internal and external customers.
• Support a positive store culture through honesty, integrity, and respect.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
