About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Planet Fitness facility to support an outstanding member experience and maintain the safety of team members and members. The role includes cleaning common areas, operating cleaning and laundry equipment, maintaining supplies and equipment, and reporting facility issues to the Club Manager. Daily duties may also include greeting and assisting members and guests, answering phones, processing retail transactions, addressing member concerns, and monitoring club areas for safety and cleanliness.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Willingness to become CPR/AED Certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Basic computer proficiency.
Positive attitude and genuine desire to help others.
Punctuality, reliability, and dependability.
Attention to detail and commitment to completing work properly.
Ability to work independently and supportively as part of a team.
Effective communication skills and comfort asking questions when needed.
Ability to learn quickly and apply online and hands-on training.
Ability to stand and move throughout the club continually during the shift.
Ability to communicate in person or by phone continually during the shift.
Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
Ability to work around toxic chemicals during the shift.
Ability to frequently clean and sanitize equipment and facilities.
Ability to bend, twist, and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.

Nice To Haves

Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness cleaning standards.
Vacuum floors and operate the floor scrubber according to the established schedule.
Dispose of trash and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products as needed and communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items located high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities and equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club and assist with questions or concerns during check-in.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and support sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently inspect all club areas, promptly address safety or policy issues, and resolve cleanliness concerns.
Follow applicable health and safety policies and protocols, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors to leadership, and work safely.
