About The Position

The Cleaner is responsible for the overall cleanliness and sanitation of all areas of the Planet Fitness facility to support an outstanding member experience and maintain safety for members and team members. The role also includes member service and basic club support, such as greeting guests, answering phones, handling retail transactions, and addressing member concerns. The position requires frequent movement throughout the club, communicating in person and by phone, cleaning and sanitizing, and moving into different positions to complete tasks. The Cleaner must be able to lift up to 75 pounds and will encounter toxic chemicals during shifts. Planet Fitness provides training for CPR/AED certification.

Requirements

Must be 18 years of age or older.
Willingness to become CPR/AED certified; training is provided by Planet Fitness.
Basic computer proficiency.
Must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
Able to stand and move continually throughout the club during a shift.
Able to communicate continually in person or by phone during a shift.
Able to bend, twist, and move into different positions to accomplish tasks.
Able to work with toxic chemicals during a shift.

Nice To Haves

Cleaning and sanitizing experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Thoroughly clean and sanitize common areas, including restrooms, locker rooms, fitness equipment, and the Black Card Spa, according to Planet Fitness cleaning standards.
Vacuum floor surfaces and operate the floor scrubber machine according to the established schedule.
Dispose of trash properly and maintain trash cans and cleaning centers.
Replenish supplies and paper products as needed and communicate inventory needs to the Club Manager.
Clean and dust items located high off the ground, such as ceiling fans, TVs, and rafters.
Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
Operate the washing machine and dryer.
Maintain cleaning equipment, including cleaning the mop bucket and emptying vacuum bags.
Greet members and guests as they enter and exit the club and assist with questions or concerns during check-in.
Answer phones in a friendly manner and assist callers with inquiries.
Execute retail transactions accurately and drive sales goals.
Resolve member concerns and escalate them to a Manager as needed.
Frequently walk all club areas, promptly address safety or policy issues, and resolve cleanliness concerns.
Follow applicable health and safety policies and protocols, report unsafe conditions or at-risk behaviors to leadership, and work safely.
