About The Position

The Cleaner maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment by performing routine janitorial services at assigned locations. The role ensures cleaning tasks meet company standards, client expectations, and safety procedures while contributing to a positive and professional work environment. The position may perform other duties as assigned. Work is performed in warehouse, retail, grocery, or distribution environments. The schedule is a graveyard shift, with varying shifts possible based on business needs. The employee must be able to travel to assigned work locations.

Ability to safely operate cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, pallet jacks, and other equipment as required.
Regularly use a mobile phone for communication and work-related tasks.
Hearing and vision sufficient to safely perform job duties.
Willingness to work varying shifts based on business needs.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or commercial cleaning experience preferred but not required.
Bilingual in English and Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

Perform routine cleaning and sanitation of floors, restrooms, break rooms, offices, and common areas.
Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, sanitize, and empty trash receptacles.
Clean and disinfect high-touch surfaces according to company standards.
Replenish restroom and facility supplies as needed.
Follow cleaning schedules and complete assigned tasks efficiently.
Report maintenance concerns, damaged equipment, safety hazards, supply shortages, accidents, equipment issues, and facility concerns to the supervisor.
Follow company safety policies and procedures; properly handle, store, and use cleaning chemicals and equipment.
Keep emergency exits, eyewash stations, and walkways clear and accessible.
Operate cleaning equipment safely and promptly report equipment malfunctions.
Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
Clean and maintain assigned cleaning equipment after each shift; drain, clean, and charge equipment as required.
Return tools, equipment, wet floor signs, mop buckets, brooms, and supplies to designated storage areas.
Safely return propane tanks to the designated storage cage when applicable.
Keep janitorial closets clean, organized, and fully stocked.
Complete assigned checklists and documentation accurately.
Communicate with supervisors and team members about daily assignments and operational concerns.
Participate in walkthroughs with store management when requested.
Meet performance expectations for timely and accurate task completion, cleanliness and sanitation, equipment care and storage, organized janitorial closets, safety compliance, and accurate checklists.
