Cleaner, Part Time 2nd Shift
About The Position
The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning and maintaining floors, carpets, furniture, windows, walls, bathrooms, and other interior surfaces; collecting and managing building trash; restocking supplies; and reporting maintenance defects. The role may also include sweeping or shoveling snow from building entrances and walkways, performing periodic high dusting and surface polishing, and completing other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
- Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
- Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
- Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
- Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high energy and endurance.
Responsibilities
- Sweep, mop, wash, and scrub floors and other interior surfaces.
- Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including their attachments.
- Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas, spot-clean them daily, and shampoo them when directed.
- Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and other specified items; perform periodic high dusting.
- Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
- Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, and wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
- Clean bathrooms daily, restock paper supplies, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, empty waste baskets, and clean bathroom surfaces and floors.
- Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
- Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas.
- Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
- Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
- Perform periodic work such as high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
- Perform any other duties as assigned.
