About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. This is a part-time, second-shift position. The role includes cleaning floors, rugs, furniture, windows, walls, bathrooms, and other interior surfaces; replenishing bathroom supplies; collecting and disposing of trash; and, as directed, clearing snow from building entrances and walkways. Periodic duties include high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing. The Cleaner also monitors for maintenance issues and reports them to supervisors. Pay for this position is $14.45–$17.00, subject to eligibility and other factors. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for the role.

Requirements

No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and other items, including periodic high dusting.
Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, both inside and outside, and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
Clean bathrooms daily, restock paper supplies, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, and clean bathroom surfaces and floors.
Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area; replace liners according to specifications.
Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
