Requirements

• Completion Secondary School (Grade 10)
• Custodial Worker certificate
• Over 6 months and up to and including 1 year related experience
• Skilled in the safe use of related equipment and cleaning materials
• Must maintain furniture and equipment in an orderly and clean manner
• Able to perform work of a routine nature with minimal or no direct supervision
• Must have ability to maintain effective interpersonal relationships and exercise courtesy
• Must be physically capable of performing the duties

Nice To Haves

• May be required to handle hazardous materials from time to time (the College will provide training)

Responsibilities

• Cleans classrooms, offices, washrooms, hallways, and other surfaces by wet mopping, washing, scrubbing, stripping, seal waxing and polishing floors, removing stains on carpeting and performing shampoo procedures when required, and vacuuming, dusting.
• Maintains furniture and equipment in an orderly, clean and safe manner.
• Maintains building security.
• Maintains a stock of janitorial supplies for assigned area.
• Removes snow from steps and walkways.
• Maintains current skillset by attending instructional courses provided by the College.
• Performs other duties related as required.

Benefits

• Salary range: $24.41 - $27.83
• Bargaining unit: BCGEU Support Staff
• Type of appointment: Non-regular On-Call
• Schedule: Monday to Friday; 3:00PM - 10:30PM - Shifts may vary based on operational need.
