About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. The role includes cleaning floors, rugs, furniture, glass, walls, and bathrooms; removing trash; monitoring and reporting defects; and performing periodic cleaning and polishing tasks. The position is part-time and assigned to the second shift.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Must be able to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean daily and shampoo rugs when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and perform periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors, and wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily, restock paper supplies, service soap and toilet paper dispensers, clean surfaces and fixtures, and sweep, mop, or scrub floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily and place it in approved containers in designated collection areas.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, entrances, and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
