About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. This is a part-time, second-shift position. The role includes cleaning and maintaining floors, rugs, furniture, glass, walls, bathrooms, and other interior areas; collecting and disposing of trash; and completing periodic cleaning tasks. The Cleaner may also sweep or shovel snow from building entrances and walkways as directed.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Use commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including their attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and high areas periodically.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash entrance-door glass and trim, both inside and outside; spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies; clean surfaces and fixtures, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet-paper dispensers, and sweep, mop, or scrub floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals or lights that are out and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to designated collection areas.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, building entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform any other duties as assigned.
