About The Position

The Cleaner helps provide club members with a clean, sanitized, and safe fitness club environment. The position is part-time at the Altoona, Pennsylvania location, with scheduled hours Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Additional hours may be available, and open availability during the week is preferred. Starting pay is $11 per hour, with hourly increases at 180 days, one year, and every six months thereafter based on the employee’s anniversary date. The role may also include shift-differential pay for select shifts.

The Cleaner completes daily cleaning tasks throughout the club, maintains supplies, reports broken or missing amenities and equipment to the Club Manager, and may assist at the desk with member check-in, sales, and Black Card spa services. The work involves frequent physical activity and exposure to cleaning chemicals.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Frequent lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling; must be able to lift up to 75 pounds.
• Continual standing and walking during the shift.
• Frequent climbing, balancing, kneeling, and crouching during the shift.
• Continual reaching with hands, fingers, and arms during the shift.
• Will encounter cleaning chemicals during the shift.

Nice To Haves

• Prior custodial experience preferred.
• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Open availability during the week preferred.

Responsibilities

• Complete the daily cleaning checklist and ensure all tasks are finished.
• Clean and sanitize fitness equipment and the gym floor.
• Clean and sanitize locker rooms, restrooms, showers, and locker areas.
• Properly dispose of trash.
• Stock supplies throughout the club and in locker rooms.
• Report broken or missing amenities or equipment to the Club Manager.
• Assist at the desk with member check-in, sales, and Black Card spa services.
