About The Position

The Part-Time Evening Cleaner is responsible for delivering customer service by keeping the assigned building clean and welcoming. The role includes cleaning and disinfecting restrooms and kitchenettes or break rooms; sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and performing other floor-care tasks; dusting and polishing furniture and equipment; cleaning windows, mirrors, and glass; and emptying waste and recycling receptacles. The cleaner replenishes supplies and notifies appropriate personnel when cleaning supplies or equipment are needed. Other related duties may be assigned. The position is scheduled from 8 p.m. to 12 a.m., Monday through Friday. Work is performed in person, with exposure to prevailing weather conditions and, for some assignments, unpleasant fumes or odors and hazardous environments with a significant chance of injury. Personal protective equipment is required as appropriate to the task or assignment.

Requirements

High-school diploma or General Education Degree preferred but not required.
At least one year of experience in janitorial or related work preferred but not required.
Ability to perform the listed physical tasks, including frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds.
Use personal protective equipment, including eye, face, foot, hand, and head protection, as required by the task or assignment.

Responsibilities

Clean and disinfect restroom sinks, countertops, toilets, mirrors, floors, fixtures, and other surfaces; polish metalwork and replenish restroom supplies.
Clean and disinfect kitchenette or break-room sinks, countertops, tables, floors, chairs, refrigerators, and other appliances; replenish supplies as appropriate.
Sweep, mop, and vacuum facility floors and remove debris; perform other floor-care work such as scrubbing, steam cleaning, shampooing, waxing, or polishing as required.
Dust, clean, or polish furniture and equipment, and remove dust and cobwebs from walls, doors, and windowsills.
Clean windows, mirrors, and glass and remove smudges.
Empty wastebaskets, trash receptacles, and recyclables and transport them to the proper disposal area.
Notify appropriate personnel when supplies or equipment are needed for cleaning duties.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
