About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. The posting lists a Monday–Friday evening shift, with shift times stated as 5:00 PM–10:00 PM in the summary and 5:30 PM–10:30 PM in the requirements.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.
• Ability to work the stated evening shift; the posting gives conflicting times of 5:00 PM–10:00 PM and 5:30 PM–10:30 PM, Monday–Friday.
• Ability to speak and read English.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other interior surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean rugs daily and shampoo them when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and periodically high-dust surfaces.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows; wash glass and trim at entrance doors.
• Wash or spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms daily and restock paper supplies. Damp-wipe glass surfaces, empty waste baskets, service soap and toilet-paper dispensers, dust sills, clean tile walls, shelves, and stall partitions, and sweep, mop, or scrub floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and lights that are out, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building and parking-garage trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move it to the designated collection area for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps, building entrances, connecting walkways, and sidewalks as directed.
• Maintain cleanliness of elevator landings in the parking garage.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
