About The Position

The Cleaner works under the supervision of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor and performs a variety of custodial duties for C&W Services in accordance with established standards, instructions, and procedures. Duties include cleaning floors, rugs, furniture, glass, walls, and bathrooms; removing trash; restocking bathroom supplies; and reporting observed defects. The role may also involve snow removal and periodic high dusting, polishing, and wall washing. The Cleaner may perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience is required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment.
• Ability to use a portable backpack-style vacuum cleaner.
• Attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash indoor floors and other surfaces.
• Operate commercial floor buffers and shampoo machines, including their attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas; spot-clean daily and shampoo when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, horizontal surfaces, and periodically high surfaces.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash entrance-door glass and trim, and spot-clean interior walls as appropriate.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily, including cleaning surfaces and floors and servicing soap and toilet-paper dispensers.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals and burned-out lights, and report them to supervisors.
• Collect building trash and place it in approved containers and designated collection areas.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways or sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic high dusting, leather and wood surface care, polishing, and wall washing.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
